ADRIAN — “Earth, Moon and Sun” is the title of March’s fulldome weekly presentation at Adrian College’s Robinson Planetarium.

The weekly program is free of charge, open to all ages of the public and lasts approximately 50 minutes, a news release from Adrian College said. Shows are scheduled for 7 p.m. on the remaining Fridays in March — March 8, 15, 22 and 29.

The show’s narrator is the Coyote, Adrian College said, based on the trickster of Native American lore. Shows this month look at the Michigan night springtime sky.

“‘Earth, Moon and Sun’ is a wonderful and hilarious program for young people in the primary grades in elementary school,” Robinson Planetarium Director Mark Fairclough said in the release. “It’s a fast-paced fulldome demonstration of lunar phases, eclipses, day and night, the sun and other puzzling events with the help of a confused coyote. This program beautifully illustrates basic concepts like moon phases and seasons.”

The Robinson Planetarium, built in 1966, is at the eastern end of Peelle Hall on the corner of South Charles and Williams streets on the Adrian College campus. Lawns signs will be posted each Friday directing visitors to available parking and to the planetarium, which features a 30-foot dome and a Spitz A-3-P star projector. The planetarium is named after industrialist Herbert Robinson, who provided funds for the construction of the facility.
