Earth Day Litter Sweep seeking volunteers

BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — Keeping the mountain state clean is a goal many in the state want to achieve.

Piney Creek Watershed Association along with Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce Raleigh County Make It Shine Committee are seeking volunteers to help do just that.

The sweep will stretch from Glen Morgan along U.S. 19, Ritter Drive, near Sullivan Road to Tank Branch Road.

The sweep will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 9 A.M. CEO of the Beckley Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce Michelle Rotellini touches on the importance of the cleanup.

“There’s not a lot of agencies out there that just go and pick up litter, so it really does take volunteers to do that,” said Rotellini.

Traffic control and officers will be monitoring the sweep area.
