Earns schedule for selected cos. in advertising

Later this month, several companies that sell advertising will begin releasing their earnings reports for the latest quarter. The reports will generally cover the July-September period, though some companies have fiscal quarters that depart from that.

Here's the schedule for selected Internet and media companies in advertising. Dates for many companies are not yet known.

— Oct. 15: Gannett Co.

— Oct. 16: Omnicom Group Inc.

— Oct. 18: Google Inc., Microsoft Corp.

— Oct. 22: Yahoo Inc.

— Oct. 25: The New York Times Co., WPP Group PLC, The McClatchy Co.

— Oct. 26: Comcast Corp., The Interpublic Group of Cos.

— Oct. 31: Time Warner Cable Inc.

— Nov. 2: The Washington Post Co.

— Nov. 7: Time Warner Inc., CBS Corp.

— Nov. 8: The Walt Disney Co.

— Nov. 15: Viacom Inc.
