Early voting begins today

May 16—TRI-COUNTY — The primary election is set for Tuesday, May 21, but those wishing to cast their votes beforehand have that option this week.

KNOX COUNTY

Voters can cast their ballots early at:

—Knox Central High School Gym, 100 Panther Way, Barbourville, KY 40906

—Sacred Heart Gym, 703 Master St., Corbin, KY 40701

Both locations will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.

LAUREL COUNTY

Laurel County Clerk Tony Brown said that early voting will take place in the Broad Street Annex building on Thursday, May 16 and continue through Saturday, May 18.

"We will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. all three days," Brown said. "Remember to bring your ID when you check in to vote."

Brown said early voting assists those who may have conflicts getting to the polls on the regular election day.

"We always want to encourage citizens to utilize their right to vote," he added.

WHITLEY COUNTY

Voters may cast their ballots early at:

—Corbin City Hall, 805 South Main Street, Corbin, KY 40701

—Whitley County Court House, 200 Main Street, Williamsburg, KY 40769

Both locations will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday. On Saturday they will be open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
