Early voting begins in Meck County for Republican Primary runoff election

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Early voting begins Thursday, April 25, in Mecklenburg County for the Republican Primary runoff election.

Six voting sites are set up and they’ll be open every day from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., except for being closed this weekend. The last day of early voting will be May 11.

Election day is May 14 when voters will have to show a valid photo ID to cast a ballot.

A second primary will take place on May 14, 2024, for the following contests:

Republican nomination for lieutenant governor:
Hal Weatherman
Jim O’Neill

Republican nomination for state auditor:
Jack Clark
Dave Boliek

Republican nomination for U.S. House District 13:
Kelly Daughtry
Brad Knott

Also, on the county level, a second primary will be held for: Republican nomination for the South Point Township District on the Gaston County Board of Commissioners:
Jim Bailey
Ronnie Worley

The Mecklenburg County voting sites are:

  • Hal Marshall Annex in Uptown

  • Mint Hill Library

  • North County Regional Library, Huntersville

  • Masonic Temple Lodge in Steele Creek

  • South County Regional Library

  • South Park Regional Library
