Early morning Cumberland County hotel fire causes evacuations

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– An early morning fire forced an evacuation at a Cumberland County hotel on Wednesday.

According to the Lower Allen Township Public Safety Director, crews responded to a fire call that came in at 2:47 a.m. for the Hampton Inn along Ritter Road.

There was a fire on the third floor that caused all guests to be evacuated. Officials say that police went room by room making sure the building was cleared.

A woman in the third-floor room was able to set the alarm off and was in the lobby by the time firefighters arrived. She was sent to the hospital to be checked out, and no other injuries were reported.
