The E.R.: It’s Time the U.S. Military Reinvented Itself to Operate in the Information Age

David Rothkopf, Rosa Brooks, Kori Schake, and Tom Ricks dissect and evaluate the way the military functions in the face of recent geopolitical change. And, as they discuss why the military has had such problems adapting to a technological age, the panel raises some vital questions: How effective can the U.S. military be, 20 to 30 years down the road, when there is little incentive to work toward forward-thinking progress? And is it even possible to upgrade the current system without the urgency of a catastrophe?

This week’s episode is a continuation of The E.R. panel’s discussion that wrestled with the controversial idea that the U.S. military has perhaps lost the infrastructure necessary for winning — and ending — wars.
