Dwyane Wade never forgets his roots. He seems to always identify with youth in an effort to inspire the high school crowd.

Proof: the perennial Miami Heat all-star surprised a group of South Florida graduates last week.

Spurred by constant correspondence from Western (Davie, Fla.) student-athlete Nageen Fallah-zadeh, Wade spoke at the school's graduation.

Fallah-zadeh had sent a letter to Wade, then carried signs at Heat games, requesting that her idol speak at the school's graduation.

According Miami.cbslocal.com, Fallah-zadeh had virtually given up hope, but indeed Wade made a surprise entrance, and then speech, largely about persistence, something the senior student-athlete displayed in getting him there.

"As you go through life, you're going to have to be resilient," he told the senior class.

"You're going to have to be persistent at things that you want. I have this hashtag I put on Instagram, I'm allergic to 'no.' You're going to have to be allergic to no," he said.

Four years ago, I interviewed Wade at a Gatorade Replay event in Chicago and found him down to Earth and genuine. His appearance last week at Western's graduation is further proof.
