Duo Sought In Armed Robberies At Frankfort Township Gas Stations

FRANKFORT, IL — Will County sheriff's detectives are asking for help identifying two people who are believed to be connected to three recent armed robberies at a pair of Frankfort Township gas stations. Authorities released images and a video from the incidents Thursday, as well as descriptions of the individuals.

Two robberies happened June 24 and Sept. 18 at the Speedway station at 7218 W. Lincoln Hwy. Another robbery occurred July 24 at Gas N Wash, 19420 S. Harlem Ave. In all three incidents, the man and woman drove to the stations in a newer model, cranberry-colored Cadillac.

Video from one of the Speedway armed robberies shows the two individuals entering the station together before splitting up, with the woman browsing the shelves and the man standing by the sales counter. A station employee then walks to the station's cash register, and the man follows behind her. (Subscribe to get Patch real-time email alerts for the latest Frankfort news. Once behind the counter, the man grabs the employee by the back of the neck, and she opens the cash register drawer before dropping to the floor. The duo takes the employee off camera and returns to take money from the register.

The video ends with the man and woman leaving the station together. The station employee wasn't hurt in this robbery, and no one was injured in the other incidents, the sheriff's office said.

Authorities described the two individuals in the following way:

  • a 5-foot-7 black man in his late 30s, with a medium build and a small goatee. He might be missing a bottom front tooth.

  • a 5-foot-8 black woman in her early 30s, with a slim build.
