Duke Energy begins rolling out new logo

Duke Energy starts putting new logo after merger with Progress Energy on trucks and buildings

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Duke Energy Corp. is ready to roll out its new logo.

The logo with light blue, dark blue and green arcs and the company name in all capital letters represents Duke Energy's merger with Progress Energy last year. Duke Energy spokeswoman Ginny Mackin says the logo is one of many steps to creating the unified company.

Duke Energy will begin placing its logo on buildings, utility trucks, bills and other items Monday in areas that were served by Duke Energy before the merger. Areas that were served by Progress Energy before the merger will begin seeing the new logo in late April.

The new Duke Energy serves more than 7 million customers in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. The company now has almost 28,000 employees.
