DUI crash involving Kyiv Oblast official leaves four injured; two victims critical
Two people injured in the road accident involving Volodymyr Maibozhenko, head of the Brovary District State Administration, are in critical condition, Kyiv Oblast governor Ruslan Kravchenko reported on Facebook on April 27.
All four injured individuals are currently hospitalized.
"Both have multiple fractures and bruises, as well as concussions and closed head injuries," Kravchenko said.

"A 2.5-year-old girl and her mother have injuries of moderate severity. The child has suffered a broken shoulder and wounds to the nose, along with a subcutaneous hematoma on the back of her head. Her mother has a concussion, fractures, and chest trauma."
Maibozhenko struck four people at a pedestrian crossing on April 26.

The official was found to be intoxicated while driving: at the scene of the accident, he underwent a blood alcohol test, which revealed a reading of 2.31 per mille (with a permissible norm of 0.2 per mille).
The police detained Maibozhenko, and a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been opened in connection with the accident. This article carries a sentence of three to eight years in prison.

The Kyiv Regional State Administration announced that Maibozhenko will be dismissed from his position as head of the Brovary District State Administration.
