Duchess Kate and Prince William turn heads with rare PDA -- watch the cute moment!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have inspired a major change in Duchess Kate and Prince William's relationship.

During a visit to BBC Studios last week, Kate strayed from royal tradition as she showed some PDA with William. The 35-year-old royal sweetly put a hand on her husband's knee in the middle of an interview where they discussed the Blue Peter honor they received for their campaign work around mental health issues affecting children. They followed in the footsteps of Queen Elizabeth, who was awarded the program's highest award during her Golden Jubilee year in 2002.

"That's very touching. Thank you very, very much," said William as he received his badge from presenters Radzi Chiny and Lindsey Russell. "Wow, that's amazing! We have won a badge!"

Kate added: "It's hugely special. Mental health has been a learning process for us too ... We want to get everyone talking about it so it hasn't got that stigma it's had."

If you recall, the world took notice of Meghan and Harry's PDA shortly after their engagement reveal. Meghan comforted a nervous-looking Harry by frequently rubbing the small of his back during their photo call and BBC interview. During their World AIDS Day outing, Meghan and Harry couldn't stop holding hands.

And as any royal fan would know, William and Kate never hold hands in public nor display any other kind of affection. Queen Elizabeth II actually set a precedent that encourages royals to keep their hands to themselves.

Albeit a small gesture, Kate's sweet PDA with William is a sign that the royals are loosening up a bit! Check out the video above for more on the royal family.
