Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, arrived in Kyiv on April 29, marking the first visit to Ukraine by a UK royal family member since 2014, according to UK newspaper The Independent.

During her visit, Duchess Sophie met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. She also held meetings with victims of sexual violence related to the ongoing war with Russia, victims of torture, and with female volunteers providing psychiatric help to children.

Furthermore, she met with children who have been safely returned to Ukraine after being forcibly separated from their families and deported by the Kremlin to occupied territories or mainland Russia.
