The Duchess of Cambridge may be just four months away from her due date but the royal is showing no sign of slowing down.

This morning, the 36-year-old headed to Great Ormond Street Hospital to open the latest phase of the institution’s redevelopment scheme.

As part of an ambitious strive to make improvements, the hospital has transformed the Mittal Children’s Medical Centre to provide more accommodation for parents and carers.

The Premier Inn Clinical Building has also been refurbished to welcome a new surgery centre which hosts wards for patients with infectious diseases or cardio-respiratory problems.

Upon arrival at Great Ormond Street Hospital, the Duchess of Cambridge was welcomed by nine-year-old Ava Watt, who gifted the royal two teddy bears.

During her visit, Kate Middleton will speak with members of staff and clinicians to garner a greater understanding of the research taking place to help seriously ill children.

For the occasion, the Duchess of Cambridge dressed her blossoming bump in a £220 red coat from yummy mummy brand Boden (which features a dainty ruffled collar and matching cuffs).

Johnnie Boden, founder of the label, told Yahoo Style UK: “I am just delighted that the Duchess is wearing our Lena coat, one of our favourites from our spring range. She looks wonderful.”

The pregnant royal accessorised the buttoned-up look with a chestnut brown clutch and co-ordinating suede courts.

It is also interesting to note, that the royal swapped her sapphire engagement ring for her more understated royal wedding band.
