Drunk driver involved in fatal Yuba County car crash

(FOX40.COM) — One man is dead after two separate car crashes in Yuba County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Around 1:20 a.m. on Saturday, a 55-year-old Olivehurst man was driving his red Nissan sedan south on Highway 70 when for unknown reasons he veered off the freeway at the Feather River exit. His vehicle went off the ramp and crashed into several trees before rolling back into the freeway and blocking both lanes of traffic, according to CHP. The driver died at the scene.

Man arrested almost one year after woman’s body was found on side of the road

After, CHP said a 20-year-old Vacaville woman in a white 2015 Audi A4 was driving southbound while drunk when she crashed into the previously crashed Nissan. She was arrested under suspicion of misdemeanor DUI and booked into the Yuba County jail.

The identity of the Nissan driver is being withheld until next of kin is notified.
