Drunk driver charged in Brooklyn wrong-way crash, police say

Detectives have charged the boozed-up driver who killed his passenger during a wild wrong-way crash on a Brooklyn highway, police said Saturday.

Ravinder Singh, 23, is facing vehicular manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, drunk driving and other charges for the Friday morning crash in Bay Ridge, cops said.

Singh was driving a grey SUV up an exit ramp to the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway at Fort Hamilton Parkway about 2:30 a.m. when he lost control of the wheel and slammed into a concrete barrier.

He was traveling west on the east-bound ramp when the crash occurred.

First responders found Singh conscious, but complaining of pain, while sitting behind a wheel, cops said.

Another man, identified as 29-year-old Harjot Singh, was found sprawled out in the back seat of the SUV with extensive trauma to the body.

Both men were taken to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where Harjot Singh died.

Singh lives in South Richmond Hill, Queens, cops said. Harjot Singh lived in Trenton N.J. It was not immediately clear if the two men were related.

Cops suspected that Ravinder Singh was drunk behind the wheel and took him into custody.

Ravinder Singh was ordered held on $10,000 bail during a brief arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court.
