Druid City Arts Festival 2024: What to know before you go

The Druid City Arts Festival returns to downtown Tuscaloosa this weekend with more than 80 artists' booths, a kids' zone with interactive activities and live music.

The 15th annual festival will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday at Government Plaza, 2106 Sixth St. (now known as Gary Fitts Street)

Admission to the festival is free.

Here's what you need to know before you go:

What to eat

The Druid City Arts Festival will feature a more food and beverage options than in years past, with a slightly different lineup of vendors each day.

  • Friday: Bama Flava, Big Tasty, Cajun Curls, Cajun Creme, It’s A Sweet Thing, La Mexicana, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Southern Groove 27, Urban Cookhouse and Wacky Martins (food trucks). Beck’s Blissful Bites, Fresh Lemonade, Lar-Ren's Farm and Poppin’ Sisters (food tents).

  • Saturday: T-town Snow, Kool Moe’s Ice Cream Big Tasty, Bama Flava, It’s A Sweet Thing, La Mexicana, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Southern Groove 27 and Wacky Martins (food trucks). A Tasty Treat, Beck’s Blissful Bites, Fresh Lemonade, Lar-Ren's Farm, Nelly’s Southern Delights and Poppin’ Sisters (food tents).

Art and more

Attendees looking for a unique gift or something new to decorate their home will have plenty to choose from at the Druid City Arts Festival.

More than 80 booths will have displays from visual artists and craftspeople selling works of clay, fiber, glass, jewelry, metal, mixed media, photography, sculpture, two-dimensional art and wood work.

Musical lineup

The Druid City Music Festival will feature a variety of musical acts, including rock, pop, country, bluegrass and a percussion ensemble.

FRIDAY

Reed Brake (Roots Rock) 5 - 6:45 p.m.

Few Miles South (Bluegrass/Roots) 7 - 9 p.m.

SATURDAY

Mississippi Mason (Country) 10 – 11:30 a.m.

Drum Nation (Percussion) 11:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Three's Company Acoustic Trio (Alternative Pop) 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.

Cottonmouth Creek (Contemporary Bluegrass) 1:45 – 3:45 p.m.

Sonic Solider (Rock/Funk/Punk) 4 – 5 p.m.

Activities for kids

The kids' zone will feature these activities both days:

  • Art Garage will have free children’s T-shirts to tie-dye while supplies last. Adult T-shirts will be available for purchase.

  • The Arts and Humanities Council of Tuscaloosa will have a paper lantern making activity tied to the Flow Tuscaloosa light parade on April 20.

  • Druid City Makerspace will offer painting laser cut wood stamps.

  • Party with Pickles will offer face painting and balloon art.

On Saturday only, Hand in Paw, a nonprofit animal assisted therapy provider, will have coloring and activity books, while the Tuscaloosa Children’s Theater will have activities related to their spring show, “Beauty and the Beast.”

Parking

Thousands of people are expected to attend the two-day festival at the 5-acre Government Plaza. Free parking will be available throughout the downtown area, including at the city's free parking deck, which is adjacent to the plaza.
