Drugs discovered in car after Oak Hill man is arrested on outstanding warrants

OAK HILL, WV (WVNS) — An Oak Hill man is facing felony charges involving possession of controlled substances and possession of a firearm.

According to a press release from Sheriff Mike Fridley, just before midnight on April 14, 2024 deputies noticed Jeffrey S. Maynard in a vehicle at a local gas station.

Maynard was known to have felony warrants. The deputies caught up with the vehicle and performed a traffic stop where they took Maynard into custody for the warrants.

The vehicle was towed by a local towing agency, but when the towing agency attempted to inventory the vehicle, they found a firearm which they notified deputies about.

The vehicle was then moved into secure storage while deputies obtained a search warrant. The search warrant was executed on Monday, April 15, 2024.

It was then that they located numerous different baggies containing what was believed to be methamphetamines.

Maynard was charged with the felony offenses of Possession with Intent to Deliver Controlled Substances, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Conspiracy.

Maynard will now await further court proceedings.
