Drug and gun seizure among Cuyahoga County’s largest

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WJW) – Simultaneously, on Tuesday, SWAT teams carried out search and arrest warrants in Cleveland, Highland Heights, and Westlake.

The six-month investigation led to the seizure of about 143 pounds of suspected fentanyl pills and powder, as well as three pistols, two rifles, a pill manufacturing press machine, and other evidence believed to be related to drug trafficking, said officials.

“Final evidence totals are pending laboratory analysis, but investigators estimate nearly 600,000 dangerous counterfeit oxycodone Blue-M30 fentanyl pills were recovered, with an estimated street value amount of $9.5 million,” read the release.

In addition, two suspects, ages 40 and 43, were taken into custody on federal arrest warrants. Their identifications were not immediately released.

The operation was overseen by the Cartel Gang Narcotics & Laundering Task Force (CGNL,) a multi-agency task force that’s led by the Cleveland Division of Police and Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The task force is made up of more than 38 investigators and analysts from federal, state, and local agencies.
