A train carrying fuel derailed in Russia overnight following an attack by an unknown drone, causing nine cars to derail and at least two to explode and ignite a fire, Russian Telegram channel Baza claimed.

The train derailed "due to an unknown people intervention," Baza alleged.

The accident occurred around 1:00 a.m. MSK near Kotluban station, Baza claimed, adding that there were no initial reports of casualties.

Two fuel tanks caught fire in the attack, Baza claimed. One tank exploded, causing fuel to spill and nearby grass to catch fire.

Nine train cars derailed in total.

The fire has since been contained, but has not yet been extinguished, Baza claimed.
