Driver refuses to exit vehicle, shoots themselves after Lafayette traffic stop

LAFAYETTE PARISH, La. (KLFY)– Louisiana State Police and the Lafayette Police Department are currently investigating an incident Sunday night involving a passenger shooting themselves after an attempted traffic stop.

According to State Police, authorities tried to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver did not leave the vehicle as requested and was taken to a hospital with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The person’s condition was not released.
