Driver killed in three-vehicle crash in Terrebonne Parish

HOUMA, La. (WGNO) — Louisiana State Police troopers are investigating a three-vehicle fatality crash in Terrebonne Parish on Tuesday, April 16.

The LSP reported the crash occurred on Louisiana Highway 659 near Lafayette Woods Boulevard.

Man arrested in connection with 2023 Plum Orchard area homicide

LSP officials said an initial investigation revealed that a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am was traveling north on Louisiana Highway 659 and a 2022 Ram 3500 and a 2023 Chevrolet Suburban were traveling south.

According to LSP, the Pontiac crossed the centerline into the southbound lane, side-swiped the Ram and continued before striking the Chevrolet head-on.

The driver of the Pontiac, who was unrestrained, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Both the drivers of the Chevrolet and Ram were restrained. The driver of the Chevrolet suffered minor injuries, while the driver of the Ram was uninjured.

LSP officials said the investigation is ongoing and routine toxicology samples were collected.
