Driver hits 84-year-old woman in Hollywood, then appears to run over her again

The Los Angeles Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying the driver of a car that struck an elderly woman twice in Hollywood on Saturday, severely injuring her before fleeing without stopping to help or identify themselves. The vehicle, which appears to be a black 2004-10 Pontiac sedan with rear tinted windows and no front license plate, hit a pedestrian along Cole Avenue just north of Santa Monica Boulevard just after 6:30 p.m., police said on X, formerly Twitter. Surveillance video shows the car smashing into the pedestrian, then shifting into reverse without ever coming to a stop. KTLA's Rick Chambers reports on May 23, 2024.
