UPDATE: Driver who died in single-vehicle crash in Neenah confirmed to be high school student

NEENAH, Wis. (WFRV) – School officials at Neenah High School have confirmed with Local 5 News that the person who died during a single-vehicle crash on Wednesday was a student at Neenah High School.

Officials say the student was identified as a 16-year-old sophomore girl.

“We know that death impacts people in a variety of ways, and our counseling staff is prepared to offer support for those in need,” stated school officials. “We will have additional counselors available at school. If your child expresses concern about this loss, please do not hesitate to contact the NHS counseling department.”

Driver dies at hospital in Neenah after single-vehicle crash on County Road CB

NEENAH, Wis. (WFRV) – One person was rushed to the hospital and later died after a single-vehicle crash in Neenah on Wednesday morning.

According to the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to County Road CB and Rockwood Lane in the town of Neenah for a single-vehicle crash.

Eyewitnesses from a nearby business say they sprung into action and began lifesaving measures shortly after the crash.

When law enforcement arrived, they found the lone driver unconscious and continued with lifesaving measures. The driver was transported to a nearby hospital, where they later died from injuries.

Authorities are not releasing the identity of the driver at this time, but they are expected to do so in the future.
