Driver charged with hitting child in Medina crosswalk faces judge
MEDINA, Ohio (WJW) – A driver charged with hitting a child who was walking in a crosswalk appeared in court Wednesday.
Shyrene Vargas faces multiple charges for the incident.

According to police in Medina, Vargas hit a 9-year-old boy who was walking to school on the morning of March 19.

Surveillance video showed the accident. The boy was not seriously hurt.
Vargas is accused of driving without a license and driving under suspension.
Vargas asked for a court appointed attorney Wednesday. Her next arraignment is scheduled for April 10.
