Driver arrested for December 2023 crash that killed 12-year-old

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A woman is in custody for causing a wrong-way crash late last year that claimed the life of a 12-year-old.

The crash happened on Dec. 20, 2023, on Dunn Road in Hazelwood.

According to the Hazelwood Police Department’s probable cause statement, Endrina Bracho was traveling westbound on Dunn in a Dodge van.

An eyewitness told police the Dodge crossed into the eastbound lane and struck a Jeep head-on. Police claim Bracho was driving at 75 miles per hour at the time of the crash, 35 miles above the posted speed limit.

Everyone involved in the crash was hospitalized. Travis Wolfe, a passenger in the Jeep, was critically injured and placed on life support. He died on Wednesday, March 6.

On Thursday, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Bracho with first-degree involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree assault, two counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and operating a vehicle on a highway without a valid license.

The St. Charles County Police Department took Bracho into custody the same day. She’ll be transferred to the St. Louis County Justice Center, where she’ll remain jailed on a $500,000 cash-only bond.
