Driver arrested after collision kills pedestrian
May 19—One person was killed and another arrested after a fatal vehicle-pedestrian collision about 10:45 p.m. Friday in western Vigo County.
The Vigo County Sheriff's Office said a vehicle driven Aaron Ray, 57, of West Terre Haute, struck a pedestrian in the roadway on Illiana Drive.
The pedestrian, later identified as 45-year-old Bradley Padgett of West Terre Haute, died at the scene from injuries suffered.
Ray later tested positive for methamphetamine at a hospital and was placed under arrest for operating a vehicle while intoxicated resulting in death, according to the sheriff's office.
