Draymond Green makes good on Michigan State-Ohio State bet with Evan Turner (Video)
Draymond Green and Evan Turner have crossed paths plenty of times over the years.
Before moving on to the NBA, Green, of the Golden State Warriors, and Turner, now in his second season with the Portland Trail Blazers, battled it out in college in the Big Ten. Two of Turner’s years at Ohio State overlapped with Green’s time at Michigan State.
With OSU and MSU’s continuing status as perennial Big Ten contenders, Turner and Green made a friendly bet on the outcome of this year’s matchup.
Turner, whose Buckeyes upset the then-No. 1 Spartans back in January, was quick to collect after the Warriors-Blazers game Wednesday night.

Green was speaking with reporters after the game when Turner approached, looking for his $100. Green was quick to oblige while double-checking to see if he owed double for the Spartans’ loss to OSU in football, too. Turner was cool with keeping it at $100.
“Thank you my good man. Be safe. Always a pleasure. Big Ten for life,” Turner said. “Keep it classy.”
Turner, who signed with Portland as a free agent ahead of the 2016 season, makes just under $17 million per year. But a bet is a bet, and Green held up his end of the arrangement. Turner’s team upset the NBA-best Warriors, too, pulling out a 123-117 home win. Turner chipped in six points and six rebounds in 18 minutes off the bench. Green, who will play in his third All-Star Game this weekend, had 16 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists and four blocks in the loss.
At the collegiate level, Ohio State, now ranked No. 8 nationally, is the surprise leader in the conference. Michigan State, now No. 2, is just half a game behind the Buckeyes in the standings with a few weeks remaining in the regular season.
