A dramatic movie-trailer-style video was played for reporters ahead of a June 12 press conference with US President Donald Trump, held during a summit with the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Singapore.
Trump said the video, which promotes the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula and a move towards peace between North and South Korea, was shown to the North Korean leader. It is structured to mimic a trailer for a movie, said to be produced by the non-existent “Destiny Pictures,” and suggests Kim could choose only choose two paths: one that leads to peace and economic prosperity, or one that keeps North Korea isolated. Trump and Kim are portrayed as the main protagonists.
The White House later shared the video on Facebook, saying: “This is the video President Trump shared with Chairman Kim at the historical Singapore Summit.” Credit: The White House via Storyful
