DPD says 4-year-old injured by debris during shooting on Apollo Avenue

DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — The Danville Police Department (DPD) has launched an investigation into a shooting that left a 4-year-old child with minor injuries from debris on March 24.

Police said around 10 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Audubon Drive and Apollo Avenue after shots were fired in the area.

When police arrived, they discovered two apartments had been hit with gunfire. Police said four people were inside one of the apartments, including a 4-year-old child who received a minor injury from debris caused by the gunfire. DPD confirmed the other apartment was not occupied.

During the investigation, officers learned that a dark-colored vehicle was seen driving away from the area with its lights off.

Police are asking anyone with cameras in the Audubon Drive and Apollo Avenue areas to check for any images or footage that might have captured the incident.
