Downed power lines prompt closure of Henderson road

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A downed power line has closed a portion of Sunset Road in Henderson, police say.

The Henderson Police Department reported that travel was closed on Sunset Road in both directions between Whitney Ranch and Arroyo Grande Boulevard due to downed power lines in the roadway.

Police say the stretch of road will be closed for an extended period of time, and that the power lines being down is a result of the ongoing weather.

Officials say the estimated time of reopening for the stretch is unknown and ask commuters to plan their travel accordingly.
