Downed power lines catch two cars on fire near 63rd, Brookside

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two cars were damaged Thursday evening in Kansas City’s Brookside neighborhood after catching fire due to downed power lines.

The Kansas City, Missouri Fire Department responded to the area of W. 63rd Street and Brookside Boulevard just after 6 p.m. due to power lines down.

KCFD tells FOX4 the power lines fell due to the wind and caught two vehicles in a parking lot on fire.

Evergy cut the power and KCFD was able to put the fires out.

No injuries were reported during the incident.
