Dow poised for new all-time high

Winners and losers

Stocks in the red today include William Lyon Homes as an entity associated with Paulson & Co. will unload over 3 million of the homebuilder’s shares, Hertz as Morgan Stanley downgraded shares to underweight with a $14 price target, and Equifax – shares continue dropping as its CEO agrees to testify before the House next month.

Stocks in the green today include Tenet Healthcare on reports the hospital operator is exploring strategic options, United Natural as the food distributor gave positive forward guidance for the fiscal year, and Tesla – shares trucking higher as CEO Elon Musk revealed the company will reveal its electric semi-truck in late October.

No vacation for US Virgin Islands debt holders

Hurricane Irma couldn’t have come at a worse time for the US Virgin Islands. The territory has already been facing major financial challenges, driven by increasing levels of government debt and unfunded pension obligations.
