Douglas Kennedy, son of RFK, due in NY court on child endangerment and harassment charges

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. - Angry nurses plan to be on hand when a Kennedy heir faces charges stemming from his attempt to take his infant son from a New York hospital.

Douglas Kennedy, son of the late Sen. Robert Kennedy, is due Thursday in Mount Kisco Court on child endangerment and physical harassment charges.

Two nurses at Northern Westchester Hospital say Kennedy hurt them as they tried to prevent him from leaving with his baby in January.

Kennedy has pleaded not guilty. He says he wanted to take the baby out for fresh air. A state investigation found no evidence of child abuse.

Kennedy's lawyer says he has filed motions to dismiss the charges and to obtain the nurses' medical records.

The state nurses association says it will have a delegation in court.
