Jadon Sancho suffered no serious injury in the Champions League and could be back for Sunday's Bundesliga match against Eintracht Frankfurt, coach Edin Terzic has said.

England winger Sancho, back in Dortmund on loan from Manchester City, scored the opening goal in the 2-0 win over PSV Eindhoven but there was concern when he limped off late in the game which what appeared to be a thigh muscle injury.

But Terzic said on Friday that "Jadon is to take part in the final training session tomorrow and then we will see."

Sancho is finding his form and also scored last weekend in a 2-1 victory at Werder Bremen.

His presence could help Dortmund in their bid for Champions League football next term for which a top four finish is required, unless they win the elite event this season.

Dortmund are fourth but only one point ahead of RB Leipzig and face all other top six teams in the standings in their next six Bundesliga matches, starting on Sunday against sixth-placed Frankfurt, plus Champions League quarter-finals against Atletico Madrid.

"Frankfurt have garnered good points in the last games. We have high pace and we will prepare ourselves for that. We are ready to take the next steps," Terzic said.

"We want to go into the international break with a victory."

Midfielder Marcel Sabitzer is suspended for the Frankfurt game and the next one on March 30 against champions Bayern Munich, while Julian Ryerson and Sebastien Haller are injured.

Terzic also said he regrets that Mats Hummels, Niklas Süle and Nico Schlotterbeck were not nominated for upcoming Germany friendlies but expressed hope that they could still make the Euro 2024 squad.

"Now is about making the most out of the situation and to show that the final decision who will be at the Euros has not been made yet," Terzic said.
