PANAMA CITY − With Veterans Day this weekend, here are a list of events being held throughout the Bay County area.

Bay County

The Bay County Veterans Day Parade will be held Saturday at 8:30 a.m. It will begin at Frankford Avenue and 12th Street. The parade will then travel south to 11th Street, and then east on 11th Street to the Bay County Government Center, 840 West 11th St. A wreath-laying ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. at the government center. U.S. Air Force Col. George Watkins will be the ceremony's guest speaker, and U.S. Navy Cmdr. Michael Mosi will lay the wreath. The ceremony also will include performances from the A. Crawford Mosley High School band and Bay High School Choir.

Panama City Beach

Warrior Beach Retreat will hold a Veterans Day parade and ceremony on Friday. The parade beginning at 4 p.m., and the ceremony at 7 p.m. A complete breakdown of the parade route can be found at www.warriorbeachretreat.org/wbr-parade-route. The ceremony will be at Living Word Church, which is located at 500 E. 19th St.

A Veterans Day golf cart parade will be held in Pier Park on Saturday at 3 p.m. A ceremony will then occur immediately after at the Veterans Memorial Plaza on the west side of Pier Park near Aaron Bessant Park. Mosi will be the ceremony's guest speaker.

Callaway

The Salute to Veterans event is planned from 1 to 4 p.m. on Friday at the Callaway Recreational Complex, 500 Callaway Parkway. The event will include performances from Bay Wind Community Band, as well as a presentation of colors ceremony by Rutherford High School's Junior ROTC.

Parker

The Parker Fall Festival Fun Day will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. at Memorial Park, next to Parker City Hall at 1001 W. Park St. The family-friendly event is not specifically veteran themed, but it was created by the city to act as a follow-up event for the different Veterans Day events happening throughout the area.
