Donald Trump’s Lamborghini Diablo Is Being Sold For How Much?

The Donald is a tough negotiator, and when he sold his 1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster a number of years back, you can be sure the deal he crafted was favorable. Now, in an effort to capitalize on Trump mania as the Republican billionaire fights for his presidential election, the car’s current owner is placing it back on the market — with an asking price of $299,999.

As TheDrive reports, with its Le Mans blue paint scheme, the Diablo VT is mostly as is was when Trump owned it, even down to the “Donald Trump Diablo 1997″ badge the businessman reportedly added himself. The “Trump 2016″ decal on the rear window is clearly the doing of the car’s current owner.

But how do we know this is really The Don’s Lambo?

Michael Digonis, the seller’s agent, sent Yahoo Autos a wealth of documentation, such as an old insurance card from Trump with the matching ZA9RU37B3VLA12842 VIN number along with a Certificate of Liability.

So what about that $299,999 price tag?

Well, an almost identical red Diablo VT Roadster with just 999 original miles sold at Barrett Jackson last year for $148,500; you can evidently see the expected Trump appreciation factor is built in here. As TheDrive reports, that is high for a Diablo with 14,992 miles, but notes that if Trump does get elected for presidency, one of his former supercars may be worth considerably more.

If we’ve learned anything from Donald during his tenure as host of Celebrity Apprentice, it’s that the art of business is in the dealmaking. At least in this case you won’t face Trump himself in the boardroom.
