Donald Trump Arrives in California to Survey Wildfire Damage

US President Donald Trump stopped at Beale Air Force Base en route to Butte County to tour Californian wildfire damage on November 17.

He spoke with Air Force’s 9th Reconnaissance Wing commander Colonel Andrew M Clark about the air quality and severity of the blaze: “This is probably the worst fire we’ve seen in Northern California from a damage standpoint as well as the amount of smoke it’s putting into the air,” Clark said.

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said the Camp Fire had grown to 149,000 acres and was 55 percent contained on November 17. At least 76 people had been killed in the fire. Credit: Department of Defense via Storyful
