Donald Trump Takes To Reddit; Tim Kaine Talks To Telemundo Tonight

GOP nominee Donald Trump will attempt to upstage President Obama and VP Joe Biden on Wednesday announcing a Reddit AMA at 7 PM ET. Wednesday is the day Obama and Biden are scheduled to speak at the already controversy-roiled DNC in Philly.

In taking his message to Reddit, Trump’s following in Obama’s footsteps, sort of. POTUS hosted his own AMA back in 2012, clocking more 23,000 user questions/comments, though he answered just 10 during the half-hour session that was much covered by the media.

Meanwhile, Trump’s surrogates preemptively dissed Telemundo’s upcoming Spanish-language interview with Dem Veep hopeful Tim Kaine. The NBCU-owned Spanish-language network will telecast the interview tonight at 6:30 PM ET.

Trump surrogate Scottie Nell Hughes, for instance, snarked on CNN that she did not need a translator for her candidate’s RNC speech, unlike the Virginia governor’s interview. That’s because, as with the rest of the RNC speakers, Trump “spoke in a language all Americans can understand – that’s English” (Note; Kentucky State Sen. Ralph Alvarado had delivered snippets of his RNC speech in Spanish).

“I’m hoping I’m not going to have to start brushing up on my ‘Dora the Explorer’ to understand some of the speeches given this week,” Hughes added. She subsequently back-pedaled, tweeting: “I never meant 2 cause hurt rather attempt 2 reference a cute tool I learned/taught Spanish 2 my own children obviously failed. I was wrong”.
