Donald Trump: Recount ‘Is A Scam’ By Jill Stein, Green Party, Clinton Endorses Effort

According to a statement issued by President-elect Donald Trump, a plan to recount votes cast in the 2016 election in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, is a “scam by the Green Party.”

The Trump recount comments continued, with the president-elect describing the results of the election as having already been “conceded.”

Trump contended that the move by Green Party leader Dr. Jill Stein challenges and abuses the results of the election and stated that they should be “respected.”

Earlier today, 2016 Democratic presidential nominee and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton expressed support for the Green Party’s Recount 2016 initiative, as reported by the Inquisitr.

“We believe we have an obligation to the more than 64 million Americans who cast ballots for Hillary Clinton to participate in ongoing proceedings to ensure that an accurate vote count will be reported,” Mark Elias, a lawyer with the Democrat said of the Clinton recount view.

President-elect Trump noted in his statement that Jill Stein wasn’t on the ballot in several states and that she captured less than one percent of the popular vote. Trump accused the Stein recount plan of being a ploy to “fill her coffers with money,” which the president-elect, who recently settled a $25 million fraud lawsuit, as reported by the Inquisitr, contends will never be spent on what he sees as a “ridiculous recount.”

Donald Trump won 306 electoral college votes, more than any Republican since 1988. The president-elect also took nine of 13 swing states and 30 of 50 states overall.

Cenk Uygur with The Young Turks appears to back Elias’ view that a recount will have no effect on the outcome of the 2016 presidential election.

“Of course!” Uygur stated, answering the question of whether he supports the efforts put forth by the Democrats and the Greens for a Stein, and now Clinton, recount.

The TYT host went on to explain that he sees no evidence to suggest that the elections had been “rigged” or “stolen” in any way.

“How would we know if it was rigged or not rigged without any evidence?” Uygur asked.

The host explained that it would be normal for Donald Trump and his supporters, the winners, to not support a recount, because the very possibility suggests that the results of the election are not 100 percent certain.

“There’s not harm in a recount,” Cenk Uygur said.

He went on to state that the current Electoral College system is “not democracy” and held up Hillary Clinton winning more than 2 million votes more than Trump, despite his win, as evidence of this.

Kevin Acosta, with CNN, noted a state accounting office’s statement that there was no “increased level of malicious cyber activity” and that the results of the election appeared to be “free and fair.”

“What a pack of sore losers,” senior Donald Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway was quoted with regard to the efforts of Dr. Stein, and now Hillary Clinton, with her show of solidarity. Conway described Clinton as being Stein’s “new BFF.”

Conway stated that raising funds for the recount was a “waste” and that the overall arc of the effort is a dismissal of the “democratic process.”

The adviser to the president-elect seemed to find hypocrisy in questions from the media and Hillary Clinton supporters over whether or not Donald Trump would accept the results of the election in the days and weeks preceding it.

“Will HE accept the election results?” a statement attributed to Conway appeared to portray language typical of a Democrat in the period leading up to the 2016 vote.

Kellyanne Conway further stated a belief that Hillary Clinton and Jill Stein need to “accept reality.”
