Donald Trump Jr. is also getting blowback — just like Ivanka — for posting a photo with his kids

Hours after his younger sister Ivanka posted a much-derided photo with her son, Donald Trump Jr. is catching heat for also sharing a photo of him posing with two of his kids. The comments were calling to his attention the scary plight of the children whom immigration officials have separated from their families at the border.

The image, on Instagram, shows the disheveled dad up very early with daughter Chloe and son Spencer, and is captioned with a reference to bedtime fun. Although the post was littered with lots of “cute kids” comments, many others Don to task, referring to the almost 1,500 children the Department of Health and Human Services may have misplaced.

Trayraymc wrote, “How lucky you are, to have your kids to snuggle with. Imagine the anguish of 1,500 families who have don’t know where their babies are right now? Because of policies your father has put in place. You’re out of touch.”

“Imagine being stripped of them,” wrote the_anti_z.

“Your daughter looks like she’s scared of the ICE agent whose coming to take her away,” commented marclucovsky.

Gotham_enthusiast commented, “1500 missing Children. Must be comforting to know where yours are.”

“WHERE ARE THE CHILDREN,” wrote skinnykatz three times, along with multiple hearts and American flags.

The elder daughter of President Donald Trump, who serves as an adviser to her father, posted a picture of her with her son on Sunday, with the caption: “My <3! #SundayMorning.”

Critics were quick to point to a “zero tolerance” policy announced earlier this month by Attorney General Jeff Sessions that authorizes border security agents to take away the children of people who enter the United States unlawfully.

The government places such children in foster homes, but Steven Wagner, a senior official in the Department of Health and Human Services told a congressional committee last month the government was “unable to determine with certainty the whereabouts of 1,475” minors after attempting to contact their sponsors in the last three months of 2017.

Ivanka posted her image on Twitter as well as Instagram (Don keeps his kid photos strictly on Instagram), and she probably got greater blowback than her brother. Retweets of her image with commentary flew across the social media service overnight.

Many others tweeted using the #WhereAreTheChildren hashtag.

Donald Trump blamed opposition Democrats for the “horrible law” in a tweet on Saturday; however, there is no law mandating the policy and it was not immediately clear what he may have meant.

Of course, this is not the first time something that Don shared on his Instagram caused a conversation. Just a few short weeks ago, he experienced dad shaming when he posted a video of shirtless Chloe.
