Donald Trump's ethics disclosure reveals payment to Stormy Daniels
President Donald Trump's financial ethics filings for 2018 have revealed the payment he made to porn star Stormy Daniels over her claims of an affair.
The US president's filing says the payment to Michael Cohen, his personal lawyer and facilitator of the payment, was valued between $100,001 and $250,000.
It has previously been reported Ms Daniels received $130,000 (£90,000).
In the filing, Mr Trump states that he has reported the payment out of "transparency", although the payment was not required to be disclosed.
However the Office for Government Ethics claims Mr Trump should in fact have made the disclosure last year because it met the requirement for "reportable liability".
On the cover page, OGE disagrees with Trump's claim that the debt is not reportable but indicates that all required information is included in this report. That means that the information was required to be reported last year. pic.twitter.com/Nn7pELpWr3
