DOJ: Visalia man indicted, accused of firearm trafficking

VISALIA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A Visalia man has been indicted after allegedly illegally selling several firearms to an undercover agent, the United States Department of Justice said on Thursday.

According to court documents, 20-year-old Shawn Saesee of Visalia sold an undercover agent eight firearms, including five machine guns on four separate occasions. Saesee sold firearms despite being told by the undercover agent he could not legally possess firearms.

The DOJ says a federal grand jury returned a five-count indictment on Thursday against Saesee, charging him with unlawful transfer of firearms in violation of the National Firearms Act and dealing and manufacturing firearms without a license.

If convicted, the DOJ says Saesee faces a maximum statutory penalty of 10 years in prison along with a $250,000 fine.
