Let’s face it. You’ve already mastered the art of taking the perfect selfie. But while your pet may be totally photogenic when you’re the one taking the picture, have you ever even thought to let your furry friend to feel the joy and self satisfaction that comes from taking their own perfect selfie?

You likely never even knew it was a possibility. Until now.

Mashable reported on a man who trained his dog to not only take her own selfies, but to also text those selfies to her owner.

The results, needless to say, are amazing.

And it may actually be easier than you think. All it requires is that your pup (or cat if you’re a miracle worker) be able to push a simple button.

Basically, you set up a surprisingly simple (assuming you can speak computer talk easily and/or can follow directions well since it’s all laid out for you) contraption with a camera and a code. The technology is available thanks to two major companies, Twilio (who created the high tech box that makes the contraption possible) and Arduino Yún (who help power the special selfie box).

Greg Baugues, a coder at Twilio, put together a helpful step-by-step guide as to how you can train your pup to join in on all the fun selfie action. It requires some basic tinkering, a little coding, and an intelligent pup who’s open to learning new tricks.

Bauges’ dog, Kaira is the trailblazer of the dog selfie world.

After having been taught how to turn on and off a light, it only took Kaira a minute to apply that same principle to her new selfie-box. And thanks to how Baugues had set up his webcam and wireless connection, he gets a delightful doggie text every time she successfully pushes the button.

You can watch it in action for yourself. The overwhelming cuteness of the whole thing will likely make you want to teach your dog (young or old) these new tricks (not to mention inspire you to learn some basic coding).
