New dog event planning business in Pensacola claims to be first in Florida | New Business

Kim and Jessica Wolford are your typical, everyday dog people.

With their five dogs, Marie Laveau, Oreo Pie, Mama Mia, Hugh Twos and Victor, you can imagine that there's rarely a dull moment in the Wolford house.

"We own a lot of dogs, obviously," Jessica Wolford said. "Dogs like to be out in public with their owners, and people want to take their dogs with them. There's a lot of dog-friendly businesses in Pensacola, but there isn't much for them to do. They often end up sitting by the owner."

So they decided to do something about it.

"The idea just came to us," Wolford said. "We launched WolfGang LLC this past fall, and we're the first dog event planner in Florida. Why leave your dog at home when we can make them the star guest?"

WolfGang specializes in events that help people make memorable moments with their four-legged friends, from holiday parties to anniversary celebrations to fun fundraising events.

"It blew up bigger than we thought," Wolford said. "It's definitely gained a lot of attention in Pensacola. The events sell out so fast and they're so much fun."

After hosting their first ever event at the end of October, Kim and Jessica went on to hold five more, with their St. Pawtrick's Day Pup Crawl and Pawdi Gras being among the most recent.

"We've held three events since the Pawdi Gras event, and we will be going to have four more coming up in the next two months," Wolford said.

Philanthropy also takes center stage at WolfGang. Kim and Jessica make certain that a percentage of proceeds from each event held go straight to a nonprofit organization.
