Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa has revealed the classic monster that he wants to battle on the show.
The star is gearing up for the debut of his first full season as the Doctor next month, and spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the iconic foes he wants to see during his tenure.
“I’ve heard chats about me not ever facing a Dalek,” he admitted. “I’d be so angry if that’s the case! By the time that I’m done with Doctor Who, I better have faced a Dalek.”

EW notes that Gatwa accidentally tossed his lip balm across the room during the interview while expressing anger at the idea of it not happening, adding: “What on earth would be the point of me being Doctor Who without facing a Dalek!”
Meanwhile, co-star Millie Gibson – who plays companion Ruby Sunday – said she would like to see the return of the Weeping Angels.
During the interview, Gatwa also revealed he would like to do “a big dance number” on the show.
“That’s what I’m going to put into the universe: I need the Doctor to have a big, fierce dance routine that, like, destroys a monster with twerking. Or maybe some death drops, and that’s what will drop the monster," he said.

In other news, Doctor Who recently confirmed that Varada Sethu will be joining the TARDIS team as a new companion next year after she was previously spotted filming with Gatwa.
"I feel like the luckiest person in the world," Sethu said. "It is such an honour to be a part of the Whoniverse, and I'm so grateful to the whole Doctor Who family – because that is what they are – for welcoming me with open arms and making me feel so at home.
"I couldn't ask for a better team than Ncuti and Millie to be on this adventure with, this is SO much fun!”
Doctor Who will return for its 14th series on May 11 at midnight, airing on BBC One in the UK and Disney+ elsewhere. Classic episodes of Doctor Who are available on BBC iPlayer in the UK.
