Doctor Who has finally confirmed the time slots for the new season's first episodes.

We already knew that Ncuti Gatwa's debut season as the Fifteenth Doctor will premiere next Saturday (May 11) – with fans also able to watch them early on BBC iPlayer from midnight.

However, the episodes will still get the traditional broadcast later in the day on BBC One, and now we know exactly when.

Season premiere 'Space Babies' will air at 6.20pm, followed by second episode 'The Devil's Chord' at 7.05pm.

Following on from that will be the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest – so an exciting evening of entertainment awaits!

Gatwa's Doctor will be joined on his adventures by new companion Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson), who was introduced in Christmas episode 'The Church on Ruby Road'.

The new season will largely be written by showrunner Russell T Davies, though one episode will be penned by former show boss Steven Moffat.

Teasing Moffat's episode recently, Davies told Digital Spy and other media: "There are some great monsters coming up.

"I kind of want tension and those old-fashioned horror scares. Episode three, which is called ‘Boom’ – at the very start to that episode, the Doctor stands on a landmine and can’t move for the entire episode, and that is absolutely a masterpiece of performance.

"And in terms of tension, it’s just thrilling. I can’t wait for people to see it. People will be talking about that for years to come."

Doctor Who will return for its 14th series on May 11 at midnight, airing on BBC One in the UK and Disney+ elsewhere. Classic episodes of Doctor Who are available on BBC iPlayer in the UK.
