DIY beatboxing game Incredibox, Titanic century most searched for terms on Google
An interactive web-based Flash game made by French artist Incredible Polo has struck a chord with web users.
The viral game, called Incredibox, lets users remix all-vocal tracks, by dragging and dropping different sounds, vocals, effects and beats onto animated characters. The http://www.incredibox.fr site became so popular with users that, after 600,000 visits in one day, the server crashed. Incredible Polo said “we think it is really broken” but assured users that “Incredibox will be back soon.”
People around the globe have marked the 100-year anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. Searches for the Titanic have increased in the weeks leading up to the Titanic centenary as people searched for further information about the tragic events that caused the ship to sink on April 15, 1912.
Internet users are searching for the term “ครู อังคณา” (“the woman”), Spanish-language users are looking up terms related to the “agencia tributaria” (“tax agency”) and AEAT (short for “Agencia Estatal de Administración Tributaria” aka the Spanish tax agency), and Chinese users are searching for the name of Chinese politician “薄熙来” (“Bo Xilai”).
An earthquake off the coast of Indonesia set off a torrent of searches for “tsunami” last week. People living in nearby regions including Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Tanzania, Malaysia and Singapore hit the web to see if they would be affected by a tsunami.
Searches for the Germany’s professional association football league Bundesliga have increased have increased as the final match draws closer.
British-based gambling company Ladbrokes is eighth on the chart and photo-sharing app Instagram -- an app which was recently acquired by Facebook -- is in ninth place.
