Divers search Mount Storm Lake after boat capsizes

May 21—MOUNT STORM, W.Va. — Divers from Mount Storm, Petersburg and Oakland volunteer fire departments continue their search of Mount Storm Lake in Grant County after a boat with as many as two occupants capsized, according to mediareports.

A search of the lake was conducted Monday evening until nightfall. The search resumed at first light Tuesday, according to officials.

Monday night's search included divers from Deer Park, Kitzmiller, Oakland and Deep Creek volunteer fire departments, according to the Garrett County 911 center.

According to the West Virginia Tourism website, Mount Storm Lake is a 1,200-acre compound accessible from U.S. Route 50 and state Routes 42 and 93.

Dominion Resources operates a coal-fired power station at the lake, which generates electricity for its Virginia customers.
