BALTIMORE, Md. (DC News Now) — Unified Command dive teams recovered the body of one of the construction workers who died when Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed after a cargo ship struck it.

Crews found the body of 38-year-old Maynor Yasir Suazo-Sandoval Friday around 10:30 a.m. at the Key Bridge collapse site, Unified Command said in a release.

Officials said that the dive team notified Maryland’s Department of State Police after finding the body of what they believed to be one of the missing construction workers.

They were able to identify Suazo-Sandoval and notify his family.

Eight construction workers had fallen into the Patapsco River when the bridge collapsed on March 26. Two workers were rescued, and crews recovered two bodies a day after the collapse. The remaining four workers were presumed dead.

“The collapse of the Key Bridge is undoubtedly one of the most challenging tragedies we have faced as a law enforcement agency. Along with our local, state and federal public safety partners, we will not give up,” superintendent of the Maryland Department of State Police Col. Roland L. Butler, Jr., said in a statement. “There are families still waiting to hear if we have found their loved one. I can promise you, we are fully committed to finding closure for each of these families.”
